Afraid of getting bit by a shark but still want to see one in real life? Then come and visit the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas! This aquarium is great for people looking to learn about animals like penguins, manta rays, seahorses, alligators and more. The staff is also knowledgeable about the animals, so if you have a question, they are there to help.

Fontainebleau State Park

Once a sugar plantation, the Fontainebleau State Park is a great historical retreat for those looking to see old railroad tracks while they walk the beach. You can also go on a nature trail to see interesting animals in their natural habitats. There's also a playground or two for wholesome family fun.

Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum

The Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum is full of marine and boat history. You can learn about the waterways of Louisiana while looking at old artifacts. The museum also hosts events like the annual Anchor Classic Golf Tournament to help raise funds for the community.
